Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review have ranked USF's business school as top graduate school for entrepreneurs.

The University of San Francisco's School of Business and Management is one of the nation's top graduate schools for entrepreneurs, according to The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine's annual ranking.

The joint study surveyed more than 700 schools and ranked USF's Entrepreneurship Program 25th in the country. According to the study, a wealth of schools are eager to meet the rising demand for entrepreneurial education, yet the survey results set apart the best. The results appear in the October issue of Entrepreneur.
"We are delighted that USF's business school has again received national recognition in entrepreneurship," said professor Mark Cannice, founder and leader of the USF Entrepreneurship Program. "The USF Entrepreneurship Program faculty, staff, corporate advisers, and students are passionate about entrepreneurship and the positive impact it can have on the well-being of individuals, regions, and countries. Centered in a Jesuit university and in the heart of global technology and venture capital, we envision entrepreneurship as passion in action."

In considering the programs, the study evaluated several factors including the entrepreneurial emphasis of the curriculum, mentoring, experiential learning, faculty credentials, and the success of graduating students and alumni. High-ranking schools were those that demonstrated a commitment to practical, hands-on experiential learning to provide the skills that translate into real-world businesses.
The top schools also have students and alumni actively involved in entrepreneurial endeavors and have faculty whose members serve as mentors, having already demonstrated success in their own entrepreneurial pursuits.

"University of San Francisco students are immersed in the San Francisco/Silicon Valley culture of risk taking and new venture creation," said Mike Duffy, dean of the School of Business and Management. "This ranking recognizes the efforts of the USF's Entrepreneurship Program to bring entrepreneurs, their advisers, and funders into direct contact with our students through classes, internships, and executive-in-residence experiences."
